Observatory for Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises

The aim of the SME Observatory, regulated by Royal Decree 943/2005, of July 29, (Official State Gazette (BOE) of September 9. Correction of errors - Official State Gazette (BOE), of November 18) is to act as an effective tool for the analysis, debate and diffusion of questions relevant to small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to act as an area where the agents involved can liaise, i.e.: Ministerial Departments, autonomous communities, business and union organizations, chambers of commerce, and social economy representatives.

The Observatory operates both as a Plenary and in Working Groups.

The SME Observatory promotes the study of SME structure and business promotion policies and innovation among companies.

Likewise, it draws up proposals for the action to be taken by the competent Administrations and recommendations for intermediate agents and for SMEs to help improve their competitiveness.
