Innovation Support Programme for Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises - InnoEmpresa (2007-2013)

The InnoEmpresa programme deals with one of the most important strategic priorities of the National Reform Plan, which was drafted by the Spanish Government. It aims to improve the innovative capacity of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises, as these represent a substantial part of Spain's business fabric.

Royal Decree 1579/2006, of December 22 created the aid scheme "InnoEmpresa" 2007-2013 and established how this would be administrated. With the framework of this Decree, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade draws up the terms and conditions for supraregional projects and jointly administers the Programme along with the Autonomous Communities, which draw up the terms and conditions for their respective areas and publish the annual calls for proposals.

The InnoEmpresa programme, with an estimated budget of 500 million euro for the period 2007-2013, will also be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to the tune of approximately 95 million euro, and it will receive additional financing from those Autonomous Communities that choose to cooperate within the framework of the Sectoral Conference for Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
