Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

The Forum of Experts on Corporate Social Responsibility was created in March 2005 as a way to encourage the development of CSR as an essential part and strategic element of a "new business model" that incorporates social and environmental elements into the traditional purpose and aims of a company.

The aim of this Forum is to study, debate and suggest measures to promote ethically-sound social and environmental practices within the framework of sustainable development as defined by the European Union institutions.

The Directorate-General of SME Policy, through the Sub-Directorate General for SME Support, formed part of the Forum of Experts on this matter - a forum that was created by the Government and headed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
