The National Company for Innovation 

ENISA - Empresa Nacional de Innovación, S.A.

This is a public-owned company attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the Directorate General of Industry and SME, whose activity is chiefly focused on searching out and using new financial support instruments for SMEs.

The aims of the company

Its specific aim is to offer finance in the form of Equity Loans characterized by:

  • A variable annual interest rate that depends on how the business activity carried out by the borrower company evolves.
  • Enforcement is subordinate to any other credit or obligation held by the borrower, and they come after general creditors in loan repayment priority.
  • Interest is tax-deductible.
  • They are considered book equity for the purposes of capital decreases and company liquidation, as established by commercial law.
  • In the event of prepayment, the company's own funds must increase the same amount.
